1 Double Check
Explanation:
Here, in the below set of puzzles, we will try to use Double Check concept to win materials or checkmate
Example Puzzle:
Here, in the above puzzle, White can play Qg8 and then black king can capture the queen on G8. Then Be6 gives a double check followed by Rg8 checkmate.
2 Practice Puzzles
Instructions:
Try to solve the puzzles without moving the pieces.
Write down your solutions before checking the solution at the bottom
Puzzle Set:
Puzzle 1: Black to move and win
Qf1 captures the rook on f1 and then white captures the black queen, then black bishop can play to D3 to give a double check followed by Rf1 to do a checkmate
Puzzle 2: Black to move and win
White plays Qd8 sacrificing the queen and then white can play Ba5 to give a double check followed by Rd8 checkmate.
Puzzle 3: Black to move and win
Black gives Nh3 check to open the G file and then black can play Ne2 double check followed by Qg1 Checkmate.
Puzzle 4: White to move and win
White plays Rg7 to give a double check and after black king goes to H8, white can play Rh7 to give another double check followed by Rh8 checkmate.
